The business was formed in the late 1960’s by J.C. Meadors. J.C. strategically placed the business located on the Frisco Line Railway at 901 W. Fair Play in the heart of Bolivar, Missouri. Bulk fertilizer was brought in by railcar and unloaded into storage containers. This business was the first of its kind in the area not owned or associated with a corporation, but privately owned.

In 1972, the Inglis family bought the business continuing the custom blending and spreading operations and adding seed sales as Inglis Farm Supply. The Inglis Family decided in 2000 to sell the company and Sam and Jerry Hawk made the purchase. 

Sam and his family made large improvements to the facility including a new fertilizer facility, feed store, and store front building. In 2012, the Hawk family added Purina feed as their main source of animal nutrition. Jake Agee and his business (Agee Ag LLC) started helping Hawk Fertilizer in 2022 spreading fertilizer and offering custom spraying for the Hawk’s customers. 

As Sam continued to grow his Registered Angus cattle business he decided it was time to focus on that herd and genetics and sold the business to Jake and his wife (Tamra). 

We operated Agee Ag out of Pleasant Hope providing Pioneer Seed, Seed Treatment, Lime and Fertilizer spreading and Custom Spraying. We bought Hawk Fertilizer and moved all of our services to the new location in Bolivar.
